COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Basic rules any Member should follow to make it a great community!
Latest update: Feb, 4th, 2013.
As a Member of Creative Professionals Worldwide and a professional, we trust you to be responsible. However we think it may be useful to gather here some common-sense rules as well as rules specific to our online community on this website or to our face-to-face events. We thank you for respecting them and helping us make of Creative Professionals Worldwide a great place for world creatives to connect inspiration :-)
Please be aware we have a legal responsability to make sure no discriminatory, derogatory or illegal content is posted on our site. Beyond that legal responsability, because we aim at offering our Members a valuable service as a professional network, we may moderate some of your content that would seem inappropriate with regards to these Community Guidelines. In such a case, you may be contacted by InMail by our Community Moderator team, be explained which content may not be appropriate and be asked to modify that content. We may also decide to remove such content without priori notice. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
•• Have a "community mindset"
You have made the choice to join a community of professionals which main purpose is to connect to counterparts. For this reason, please have an open mind and accept to interact with the other Members, especially when you are personally contacted by them.
•• Be polite and respectful in your interactions with other Members, whether online or during our events.
•• Keep it legal
Stay out of legal troubles by defaming others, posting porn, plotting illegal activities, or posting other people’s private information.
In one word, do not post inappropriate content.
•• Don't create content of a discriminatory or derogatory nature
Having a rich debate with other Members, whether online or during our face-to-face events, don’t allow you to be offensive about the: race, color, ethnicity, nationality or physical characteristics, gender or sexual orientation, religion or non-religious viewpoints, political opinion, socio-economic status, age, physical, mental or intellectual disability/impairment, of other members.
Any Member facing such trouble can let us know about the situation (hello@creativeprofessionalsworldwide.com). Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from CPWW and your case transmitted to the relevant authorities.
Also, when you sign up to our Site: to the question "Nationality", please answer with an existing nationality (such as, American, German, New-Zealander, Kenyan, Brazilian, Chinese, etc...) and don't answer with a race (such as "Caucasian", "Black", etc...). Creative Professionals Worldwide being a company registered in France, question about race to a member of a social network is not allowed by law. Shouldn't you be comfortable with giving your nationality and that it can be visible by any Member or any visitor of our Site, leave that field blank.
•• Don't harass
There is zero tolerance of predatory behaviour, stalking, threats, harassment, invading privacy or the revealing of other members' personal information.
Any Member facing such trouble can let us know about the situation (hello@creativeprofessionalsworldwide.com). Anyone caught doing these things may be permanently banned from CPWW and your case transmitted to the relevant authorities.
•• Respect copyright
- Don’t upload content that you didn’t make, don’t own the copyright of or don’t have the necessary authorisation to use. Instead, upload your creations.
- Creative Professionals Worldwide being a network for professionals of the creative industry, most of the content you will find on our website (photographies, videos, music, writings) was created by our Members as part of their jobs. Such content belongs to the related Member and is protected by copyright. Please don’t use content you can find on our website without any necessary authorization from the owner.
•• Don't spam
Spamming Members or posting repetitive content is NOT a good way to promote yourself to our Members nor to the world creative community.
•• Post professional content
Creative Professionals Worldwide being a professional network for creatives, please only post content related to the creative industry. Avoid uploading your personal pictures, videos or any content related to personal interests, rather post photos and videos of your work as a creative professional or of other inspirational creatives, promote your news and events or news and events of interest for professionals of the creative industry.
•• Use your real name
Our Community may bring you new professional contacts : creating an authentic relationship is essential. Don’t use your business name as a pseudo when registering on our website; rather use your real name (first name at least).
•• Don't do straight up advertising
Don’t advertise as you would do through a commercial ad. Within the Community, we do not permit business accounts as we value the human link before the business link. We believe good business relies on an authentic relationship between two human beings.
Rather share about your ongoing projects (through a blog post or the calendar of events), your inspiration etc. Deliver valuable content to the Members of our community, you’ll see how much more valuable it will be for your business or career.
•• Don't advertise for freelance job opportunities
Don't make general announcement on our website related to job opportunities for Freelancers to ask interested Members or their connections in or outside our Community to work for a freelancing assignment of yours or of one of your connections. This is part of Creative Professionals Worldwide's business.
Should you be in need of advertizing for freelance job opportunities, you are free to use the paying services of Creative Professionals Worldwide's Marketplace as described here.
•• Languages
Due to the various nationalities of the Members of our Community and because purpose of the Community is to connect to international people, please use English anytime you post a public item on our site whether on public pages or Members’ pages. You are free to use any language of your choice in private messages.
•• Attending our events
In some cities, face-to-face events are organized by our team or our Members involving time and sometimes resources.
Whether we ask you for a fee or not, please behave as you would do with any other professional appointment. Do your best to respect the organization: stick to your RSVP at best possible or inform the organizers in case of an unexpected event.
•• Organizing an event
Please refer to that specific page and read the related Guidelines for Event Organizers.
